WINGED NUDE GODDESS ON IBEXES

Representation of the divine feminine in Mesopotamian religion of the Old Babylonian period; apotropaic and votive cult; direct comparison with the Queen of the Night. The bird-talon feet and the posture on ibexes evoke the chthonic forces of Mesopotamian cosmology; AO 6501 is cited as comparandum for the winged nude goddess type in studies on the Queen of the Night.
